Charismatic Reformer, Mystic or Father? The Reception of Symeon the New Theologian by Pentecostal/Charismatic Theologians

The last three decades have seen a renewed interest on the part of Evangelical scholars in patristic studies. Recently, theologians Pentecostal/Charismatic tradition started to examine works Saint Symeon New Theologian. latter’s emphasis personal experience Holy Spirit and Christification provides fertile ground for encounter between Orthodox scholars. Recent scholarship is reviewed light contemporary scholarship. Four key moments Symeon’s teaching asceticism are presented response two theologians.
